PMB Portal Auto Login is an internal Chrome extension developed by Park Medical Billing (“PMB”) for use exclusively by PMB staff. It is not distributed to or intended for use by the general public.
What data this extension collects
When a PMB staff member uses this extension to log into a supported insurance, payer, or practice-management portal (e.g. Availity, Cigna, UMR, Kareo, WebPT, and other portals listed in the extension’s permissions), the extension collects:
- Portal login credentials (username and password) needed to complete the automated login on the staff member’s behalf.
- One-time passcodes (OTP) / two-factor authentication codes and backup codes, retrieved from PMB’s internal backend when a portal requires them.
- Login outcome data: which portal was accessed, the associated PMB client/case identifier, and whether the login succeeded or failed.
- A screenshot of the active browser tab, captured automatically when a login attempt fails, to help PMB’s internal support team diagnose the failure.
This extension does not collect browsing history, personal data unrelated to portal logins, or any data from users outside of the specific insurance/payer portal pages it operates on.
How this data is used
Collected data is used solely to:
- Automate staff login into contracted insurance and practice-management portals.
- Retrieve time-sensitive OTP/verification codes needed to complete a portal login.
- Maintain an internal audit log of login attempts for operational troubleshooting (e.g. diagnosing why a login failed, tracking portal account lockouts).
Where this data is stored and who it is shared with
- All collected data is transmitted directly to Park Medical Billing’s own backend systems (
api.parkmedicalbilling.com), operated by PMB. - Verification codes are held temporarily in the browser’s local extension storage (
chrome.storage.local) only for the duration needed to complete a single login, and are overwritten on each new request. - This extension does not share any data with third parties. No data collected by this extension is sold, rented, or provided to any external company, advertiser, or analytics service.
Data retention
Login logs and failure screenshots are retained for 30 days on PMB’s backend, after which they are deleted.
Who can access this data
Access to logged data is restricted to authorized PMB personnel for operational and support purposes.
